Your mom needs to get a trust not only a will. I think as out here a will the house would have gone to probate verses to us without a trust and mom's house had been paid for. Sorry for your loss of brother and the other in prison. I had a cousin do time in prison long story ,, he was a bouncer at a bar , big man.

 in response to Starshine...   Yes planned parenthood is facing some problems now for sure, but think they brouth some of it on themselves...A lot of people do not like that planned parenthood using tax payers dollars for killing babies i see on tv.
There is a big problem in this country now and it does not have the money to keep going like it is. Bush spent 9 trillion dollars over 8 years but Obama has spent 5 trillion dollars in just over 26 months in office. Someone needs to get on the job before no one can get SS, SSI, SSDI, Medicare, Medcaid, and so on.
The states are going broke and all the unions wnat is more money. They just dont get it or dont care what happens down the road. I cannot stand the fact that the the Dems and Reps. dont get it as well. Need to kick them all out and start over I think....
My mom may have a will but not sure. She does not see fit to tell me anyting. I'm not sure that she has told my 2 brothers either. In any case I guess she will sometime down the road. I do know she told me that she has no life ins. but has grave site...
I had one younger brother to die back in 2000 and one younger is in prision until 2030. My youngest brother is living at home with mom, because she cannot make it on her own. The home was paid for with cash by my grandfather when it was built back in 1973. Both of her cars are paid for as well so that is good.
I'm just not sure what she is going to do. She did state some time back that she might sell home and move into condo...Who Knows...

Cats were meant to be outside. Safer inside but they were meant to be outside. Have your mom get a living trust and in the blank trust have her write down who gets what and have it nortrized. Then when the end comes the will goes and the trustee goes into effect. In fact she can start to give away personal items when she feels fit. Death brings out the greedy for sure and that is not good for any of us. My rich boss his dad is left and his dad is well off. His sister is well of and married to an attorney and he dreads the day his dad dies as his sister will give him hell over the money. What is left.
I think in due time is the country doesn't turn around and more get feed up there will be our own up revolution. No one knows what to do but the only alternative is to live with others to cut the cost of living.
Who would have thought we be in this mess. Manager told me yesterday he sees people shopping and he said I can't. Like to see those people save their money as it is not going to get better or help someone who needs it. It will be a rat race to see who can get what food etc...See facebook petition for planned parenthood not to close it.
They want to close everything. What a mess

Some people can be a real pain in the butt ! Have no clue what will happen when my mother will past and what my brothers will want to do...I;m sure it will be a mess...I will be glad when the warm weather comes back as well. I's 37 here today and raining. A little colder and it will turn into snow I guess. I do not know what to do anymore whit the country going to Hell In A Handbag !

 in response to hanks55...   I kept thinking about my cat last night and all I wanted to add to his blog spot I did. I really miss him even though he could be a handful. It was a better life for us at the house with the yard and him being able to go in and out of course me the door man through all of this. I miss the house and hate it here. Only if my sister would have sold me her share in the begging instead of being greedy and stubborn plus non communicative. Everything would have been settled. Some people are just butt heads to put it nicely when there is death in family and she is one. Such is life.

My sheets and things look like a tornado hit it. I was bored on the net and called it quits by 1030 went to bed by 1130. Then couldn't sleep good. Woke at 3am so not fun. I know it is easy living in a city do to access to many things but i dont want to die before my time however that could happen anywhere...But ilike living in country settings that are close to large towns or cities...You do not have to even lock your doors here, but we do just incase...I lived in Washington DC, for years and made good money but hated living there...Well my headache is still hanging in there so will go for now and will check in later...We just got hit with another snow storm which i'm sure is on tv... 1 & 1/2 feet to 5 feet on the east coast...
It is pretty but starting to get old now...

 in response to hanks55...   This is city and even the beach was hit with gangs, shootings and copters from 11AM till 12midnightso I wanted out. It got worse down there and out her is okay but I have seen guns pulled from cops chasing a car at a gas station I was at. 13 cops car pulled into this little station and I got out of there. The bank I use to go to one day had a feeling it was robbed pulled up later to do my banking and cops were there is had been robbed it really caused post traumatic stress for one teller. The bank put up plexi glass window but still got robbed as they were near a freeway.

Starshine I filed a chapter 7 just 3 years ago and I was able to buy a home this past Feb 2010...If you can show that you have payed you rent on time and other you stand a good chance of being able to buy something or rent another place....However, you may need to reapply if it has been sometime since you applyed for a cut in your rent....You should be able to get it since you only get 1200.00 a month....

 in response to hanks55...   I heard that and boy 18 is cold. All of those things are bad about FL plus hurricanes that rip through the coast there are worse. I think Hawaii might be the answer for those highs and I know someone who lives there not rich but been in the a part of the service for a while.  in response to hanks55...   Hello I use to have all electric heat in the winter and it was not cheap in CA if you left it on but now a days it would be horrible to have all electric as the rates have gone up. When I first moved here to this apartment the gas hadn't been turned on the manager loaned me a heater than really drove the electric bill up. I prefer electric stoves and even heat to a degree as my sense of smell is not there. And when there is a problem with a gas appliance my sixth sense tells me to check things where I have found the polite light off. My cousin moved from Long Island to Florida long ago as she couldn't take the snow anymore. Oh well off the another day. take care
We are in for cooler temps low 33 which is bad here and high 50. I was going to wait to 1030AM to get up since I was up to 230 last night. Now to order me something to eat.

Running all elec. heat can be high in the winter. i have a fire place with gas logs but was unable to get a tank of gas brought out before the winter sey in.
Also have a fuel heater but gives me headaces.....
The snow is heavy today with wind blowing about 50 mph. to 70 mph gust...so were are having a lot of snow griffs....
Hope all is well on the West Coast ! I still believe I will be moving south...Love it here...But too cold...

It's snowing today...They were not calling for snow until Sunday but got most last night...The weather forcast is snow all the way though next Firday here...Well in anycase I will live though it i guess...
Electric Bill was 303.33 last month because of the cold weather...It only runs about 75.00 doing the spring,summer,fall or 9 months out of the year.

I hear that you aren't doing better with the headache. To bad can't see a chiropractor and get x rays and they have this punch deal where you don't have to get adjusted by as I call it cracking your neck. I am sure you want to see another doctor and in the cold too.
See if you can add humidity to your place if heat is on a lot as mom use to put dutch oven of water by heater as with the heat on dried the place out. Dad use to leave heater on at night and mom and I got headaches this wasn't carbon monoixide poisoning ( give me spell check) but our bedrooms were by the heater so we had to shut our doors at night as it was like an oven in the hall away..

No I have been up for sometime...I have been watching a movie The Abyss...It's cold, wet and windly here today but sun is shinning. We got about 6 inches in 26 hours and they are calling for more snow mid week. Just have to wait and see. The weather here can change in a matter of a hours from snow to rain to sunny back to snow, sletting, rain, and then back to sunny. Being at 3570 feet and to 6500 feet within a 20 mile drive you almost never know what the weather is going to be like in the winter time, but I like it that way...The most we have to worry about is high winds, unlike living on the Eastern Coast of Virginia. There it could be server thunderstorms, hurricanes,water spouts,flooding,and so on. The same thing when I lived in Morgan City LA. on the Gulf of Mexico...I was really glad to get out of LA. after living there for 7 years because of the heat...Here in the Blue Ridge of VA. it seems to have a milder weather pattern...Well I'm off to watch another movie so just wanted to stop in and say Good Morning there in CA. Fall In The Blue Ridge Mountians...

 in response to hanks55...   I thought Virgina was huge and I know my dad had to go to North Carolina for training on fixing the computers and the big one's nothing like the pc's we have. I do not remember if he went further than that. But he said NC was pretty. I love to see that part of the country when it is warmer like in August. I know we were in PA one time on a long trip which was decades ago.

 in response to Starshine...   Virginia is huge going east to west on the southern lower half or traveling south from northern va. to southwestern parts of the state. It has alot of people that work in DC. live in northern va. It's only 30 min. drive to DC. from northern va. and we share borders with MD., PA., WV., KY., TN., and NC....
We have the easten coast line, 1000s of lake's all the way up to the Blue Ridge Mountians, Appliahian Mountians in Va. which run into the Great Smokey Moutians in northwestern NC. I live in Carroll County Virginia which borders NC. line. about 30 mins from my home.

 in response to hanks55...   My apartment kitchen faced west at the beach and at mom's the west was the back windows of the living room and I have some pretty sunrise and sunset pictures I took there. They are on a piece of furniture in living room. I love these kinds of pictures.

 in response to hanks55...   Love the name Tigger. Cute and glad they have a home. Out here at 32 degrees we have to keep our animals indoors as even if they have fur they get cold . Sunny use to hang outside till the heard the weather and pet group say otherwise. He and another cat use to sleep under cars that had stopped running so when I learned that he stayed in when it rained and hit below a certain tempature. I watched him try to hid from the rain and he gave up and came in. When it hits cold he came inside and stayed in mom's room and same with the fireworks it freaked him out to be outside and he was shivering.
That is good they got a warm building as Sunny had the house or he crawl under someone's house before I took him in.

 in response to Starshine...   Tigger is inside staying warm. It has stop snowing now and sunny but cold. I'm going to town this week to pickup a few things before the big snow comes they are calling for. I have a Dodge Pickup 4x4 so snow is not a big problem, but ice is the big problem up here. We are at 3570 ft. but within a 20 mile drive we climb to almost 5600 feet above sea level.
Cats outside are doing great. They have a warm building to stay in and can come and go as they please. They are long hair and have on a winter coat... Good luke with the Lic. ! Monty
